Really good!
Do you are doing it with an independent studio? Alone??
I can't wait to see the animation complete >w<

I have read a little about you working/studying in Japan. Excusme for asking. Was it hard for a foreign to enter in the 'Japanese Work World' in a creative way?? You had an offer after leaving the Japanese University?
I am very interested on it. I am still finishing my degree of Media, drawing when I have time and trying to upgrade my japanese. I have to work a lot until then but I wish I could go there someday. [in fact, in less than two years...]
Thank you and again GREAT job!!

This animation was done as a university graduation project.

It is really hard to enter the creative "work" world unless you have something to show - a good portfolio or a reel.

This was really good! I kept on re-watching the trailer, because the music was memorable and such..and I've seen all your backgrounds, they had the 3-d effect yet they were made with photoshop, you could tell the effort placed into it.

Although I would wish for a longer version, animation is hard so I guess I would re-watch this for now.
Loved the subtle movements with the camera done in sync with the music.

Anyways just asking, what is written in japanese when the traffic light and the snow falling appeared in?

"Why do you ignore me" is written in Japanese.

I'm now working on 4 minutes full version of this animation.

oh! I see that's good looking forward to it ^^

May I also ask, I heard you've attended a university in japan?
How was it like?
(I am currently researching my future possibilities since I was asked to do so.)
What skills do you learn?
Do you think this could be self-taught, or do you think this is could learned individually? May I ask your opinion.

In my opinion I'm 90% self-taught. And the 10% came from teachers that also work in the industry, animators, Internet and such. At the university I'm attending to you could learn drawing manga or animating characters from scratch without a problem from really good teachers that worked/are working in the industry, if you enter undergraduate course. On Masters course theres more design theory and self-study.

Oh I see...So that's how it is?

Do you have any suggestions for a beginner like me, currently I know I am not experienced enough. Although I do have the nib pens at home and watch tutorials, I know I still have to focus on my anatomy and such before starting on other projects..But once I'm ready I would like to accumulate some experience.

Do you have any websites or tutorials or books you recommend?
Also it would be very helpful if you could give advise.

I have one suggestion: buy cheap A4 paper 500 sheets, good wooden pencils, AND DRAW LIKE THERE'S NO TOMORROW. (I'm serious). The best exercise I did in the univ. I'm attending to, and this is what the students of manga department almost always do, all the time, is taking a ready made script (like a book or something else) and draw on cheap A4 with pencils as many pages as you can. From class to class sometimes you have to draw in rough manga form a whole CHAPTER of a book (in a week).

script, you mean the dialogue and all of that, and a whole manga chapter copying like from actual manga? Or you visualize your panels from a book. Wow! If that's the case. That seems tough, but I guess everything is tough, thanks!

Also I would like to ask...(sorry for all the questions....)
If I were to become an animator or mangaka in japan, do you think it is likely to work outside of japan? (because I am concerned if I only study a certain animating style or such, I will only be limited to working inside japan...)

Also it seems that you took japanese in one university and animation in another. Is it really possible to that in every university and how do you make it happen?

Also how do you promote yourself for the overseas market? I'm very interested in that. Does your university provide the events, or you go to the events yourself. If thats the case where do you get your information from?

Also about computer graphics? Do you consider in useful when you relate it animation? Do you think knowledge in programming is necessary? (Because honestly I can't take computer science next year, because it is isn't a popular subject at my school.)

yes, I mean script - dialogues and story (for example a book or fanfiction etc.). Not copying from a manga though.

It's virtually impossible to work for japanese company from outside of Japan or VERY rare.

I got a scholarship, you should search on the Internet for ones available to you.

I'm not promoting myself outside of Japan much :)

Computer graphics is a MUST. Not programming, but PERFECT knowledge of at least Adobe software is necessary.
